SEO Proposal

An SEO proposal is your pitch to attract new clients. It's a key document that proves your agency's value and convinces prospective clients to hire you. You can use it for prospects you're already speaking with, or for lead generation with colder leads.

A strong SEO proposal is easy to understand. It outlines your prospect's challenges and shows how your SEO strategy will increase their organic traffic, conversions, customer numbers, and bottom line. AgencyAnalytics' "Lead Gen" report template helps you build that proposal quickly, and reassures prospects you're the right agency for the job. Building a proposal with this template should take about 10 to 15 minutes.

The customizable Lead Gen template includes:

  • A complete backlink analysis

  • Organic keyword rankings

  • Fill-in-the-blank text to help you sell your agency's services

Create an SEO Proposal for a Prospective Client

Follow these steps to build your SEO proposal, then apply the Lead Gen template so it automatically pulls in your data.

Step 1: Create a new Client in AgencyAnalytics using your prospective client's website URL.

Step 2: Enable the Rank Tracker for this Client and add keywords to monitor. Keyword tracking shows you how your client's website pages rank for specific search terms in search results.

Step 3: Add keywords manually, or use the keyword suggestions feature to find keywords relevant to your client's business. Use the "default" option to pull in keywords already found on your client's website, or search SEMrush's keyword suggestions.

Step 4: If your prospective client has a location-based business, add their Google Business Profile to the Rank Tracker. Add it by business name, or by using the business's CID number. Then enable local ranking tracking to pull in Google Maps rankings for your chosen keywords.

Step 5: Audit your client's backlink profile using the free Majestic integration. Evaluate backlink quality using the Citation Flow and Trust Flow metrics. This helps you define a strategy to improve your client's backlink profile.

Step 6: Once keyword tracking and the backlink audit are set up, go to Reports in the top menu bar within the Client and create a report from a pre-configured template. Choose Lead Gen Template from the list of available templates. The report will populate with data from all the integrations you've connected.

Step 7: Customize the text widgets in the report with your prospective client's information. You can also customize any section of the report to add, delete, edit, or resize widgets.

Step 8: Send your finished SEO proposal to your prospective client. You can email the report directly, download a PDF version to send by email, or create a shareable link so your prospect can view a web-based version of the report.

Client Proposal Tips & Additional Information

Save a Customized Lead Gen Report Template

Building your SEO proposal shouldn't take longer than 10 to 15 minutes. Once you've finished editing your proposal, we recommend saving it as a new report template. Saving it as a template lets you apply the same proposal format to other prospective clients in the future.

Improve Your SEO Proposal with Google Sheets

Some agencies run custom analyses and add them to their SEO proposal. The Google Sheets integration lets you pull data from a Google Spreadsheet directly into your report. The data updates automatically within 30 minutes of any change to the original sheet.

You can also use this feature to attach custom data, lists, invoices, or any other information you've added to a Google Sheet. Alternatively, you can add custom text to a textbox widget instead.
