What Is a Client
A Client in AgencyAnalytics is one website or URL you track metrics for. All reporting functions are done on a per-client basis, so most digital marketing agencies will have one Client for each website they manage and report on.
Within each Client, you'll connect integrations, also referred to as data sources, to pull in your client's data. For each Client, you can track SERPs, attach social media properties such as a Facebook Page, YouTube channel, or Instagram business account, and integrate third-party data sources such as Google Ads.
You may occasionally have more than one Client set up per customer. For example, this might happen if a customer has multiple websites or multiple Google Business Profiles.
Every Client also has a Client Dashboard, where you can configure widgets that give you and your customers access to your most important metrics at a glance.
Once your data sources are connected, you can build reports to send to your clients or create dashboards for them to view.
Create a Client
You create a Client from the Clients page using the Client creation wizard.
Step 1: From the Clients page, click Add Client in the upper right-hand corner to launch the Client creation wizard.
Step 2: In the wizard, enter a Client name and the Website address it will reference. The URL is used when tracking backlinks or keywords, auditing the site for SEO errors, and generating the website preview used in tile view.
The website address can be any public URL, including subdomains, paths, ports, and non-English domain names. Social media pages like Facebook or Shopify stores can also be used.
Step 3: Add the additional Client information by clicking the arrow next to Advanced settings just below the website address.
Advanced Settings:
Template | Apply a previously created custom Client template, including dashboards and reports, to what you're creating now |
Timezone | Sets the timezone for the Client; this affects when you set up your scheduled reports |
Group | Used to organize Clients into new or existing folders. You may want to use this for a certain region or type of customer |
Country | The country this client is in |
Step 4: Click Add in the bottom left to finish creating the Client.

Clone or Duplicate a Client
Cloning a Client copies parts of an existing Client into a brand new Client, so you don't have to rebuild reports, dashboards, user access, or agency markup from scratch.
Step 1: Navigate to the Clients page. Hover over the Client you'd like to clone, then click the ellipsis menu to open a dropdown. Click Duplicate to launch the creation wizard.
Step 2: Click the circles next to the areas of the existing Client you wish to copy to the new Client.
Step 3: When you've selected what you want to copy, click Next at the bottom left.
You can copy any of the following:
Option | What it copies |
Reports | Clones all existing reports from your Client |
Dashboards | Clones all existing dashboard sections from your Client |
User Access | Clones all users and user permissions of anyone with user access to your Client |
Agency Markup | Clones agency markup percentages from your Client |
Step 4: Enter the Client details. The Client Name and Website Address are mandatory fields.
Step 5: Set the additional Client options if needed. Choose the Report Delivery Timezone (which determines what timezone your reports will be sent within) and the Group (where you can add the Client to an existing group or create a new group).
Step 6: Click Complete at the bottom left to finalize the cloning process.
It may take a few seconds to complete, then it will redirect you to the Data page, where you can connect data sources to finish setting up your cloned Client.
Organize Clients on the Clients Page
On the Home page, you can shift between the two available views in the upper right by clicking the Tile or List view icons.
Each user account can select their own preferred view. Changing the view will only change it for your user account. Click the icon to see the options.
Add a Client from a Folder
Clients can be kept individually or grouped into Folders, which changes how clients are displayed in some views.
In Tile view:
Step 1: Hover over the client tile, then check the box in the left corner.
Step 2: Click the Folder icon with the plus symbol. Then enter a new folder name or select one from the dropdown.
Step 3: Click Save to add these clients to a folder.
In the List view:
Step 1: Check the checkbox to the left of the client's name.
Step 2: Select the Group button that becomes available. Then enter a new folder name or select one from the dropdown.
Step 3: Click Save to add these clients to a folder.
Remove a Client From a Folder
You may want to reorganize how you structure these groups or go back to viewing them all individually. To remove clients from a folder:
Step 1: Go to Clients page and click the folder containing the client you want to remove.
Step 2: Check the boxes to select the Clients you wish to remove from the Folder
Step 3: Click the open Folder icon to remove the Clients from this Folder

Rename a Folder
Renaming a folder is quick and easy. On the Clients page, click the ellipsis in the top right of the Folder tile, or on the far right in list view. Then simply click Rename, enter the new name, and save.
When all clients are removed from a folder, the folder will disappear from the Clients page.
Edit a Client
If you need to update the details like timezone, country etc you can adjust your client easily.
Step 1: Open the Client you want to change and click the Settings button at the top right.
Step 2: On the Client Details page, you can update the Company name, URL, Timezone, Start Date, Country, and Language. You can also add or remove a Client group or update the URL Scope used for rankings and backlinks.
Step 3: Once you've finished updating, click Save at the bottom left to lock in these changes.
The "All Time" date range in the report and dashboard date range selector is determined by the Start Date set under Client Details. To increase the "All Time" range, update the Client's start date to an older date.
Delete a Client
You can remove a Client from the Clients page in either Tile or List view.
In Tile view, hover over a Client tile, click the Ellipsis, then click Remove in the dropdown.
In List view, click the box to the left of the Client names to select one or more Clients for deletion, then click Delete in the upper left of the table.
This will trigger a pop-up displaying a list of the Clients being deleted. You can then select the Removal reason for the Clients in question, and click Delete client in the bottom left to proceed with deleting the Client(s).
Note: When you delete a client, you will be unable to access historical reports for that client. In order to access reports for a deleted client, you will need to first Restore a Deleted Client below.
Deleting a Client does not automatically change your billing. If you don't plan to replace this Client with a new one right away, you can follow these steps to update your subscription and alter your Client count.
Restore a Deleted Client
Your account Admin and any Staff Users with the Clients and Prospects create/edit/delete permission can restore Clients that were deleted after November 2025.
Step 1: On the Clients page, click + Add Filter, then Status is, then filter by Removed status. This filter option is visible only to users with the permissions listed above.
Step 2: Check the boxes next to the Clients you wish to restore, then to return them to active Clients, click Restore in List view or the Trash can with the back arrow in the Tile view
Client FAQ
How do clients influence my billing?
AgencyAnalytics plans are based on per-client pricing. Each client has a fixed price, and billing is based on the number of clients in your account.
Is there a limit on the number of clients that can be added to my account?
There is no max number of clients that can be purchased. You can still create new clients, and they will be automatically added to your billing.
Is there a minimum number of clients required?
There is no minimum number of clients required for your account. Our plans will only bill for the number of clients in your billing, which can be as low as 1.
Does deleting clients change my pricing?
Deleting clients alone does not affect your billing. If you are looking to adjust the number of clients in your billing after removing a client, please follow the steps here. If you don't also delete them from your seat count in your Billing settings, you will still be charged for them.
How are restored clients charged to my account?
When you restore a Client, the payment method on file for your account will be charged a prorated fee based on how much time remains in your current billing cycle.
Example: Gerald has a monthly subscription for 5 Clients that renews on the 30th of each month. His subscription is $125 ($25/month/Client). On the 15th of the month, they restore a 6th Client:
On the day the Client is restored, Gerald is charged $12.50, as the restored Client is only active for the remaining half of their monthly billing period.
On the 30th, when the subscription renews for the next month, Gerald is charged for 6 Clients, bringing their recurring monthly total to $150.
When can I adjust the number of clients in my account?
You can adjust the number of clients in your account at any time, and it will take effect immediately. The changes made will also be automatically applied to any following billing cycles.
What gets copied when I clone a client?
You choose what gets copied in the clone wizard. The available options are Reports, Dashboards, User Access, and Agency Markup. After cloning, you're redirected to the Data page to complete setup for the new client.
Can I create more than one client for the same customer?
Yes. You may occasionally have more than one Client set up per customer, for example, if a customer has more than one website or more than one Google Business Profile.
What does the client timezone setting affect?
The client's time zone affects how data is displayed on your dashboards and the exact time your reports are sent, ensuring your clients receive their reports at the right time, regardless of where they are in the world. A different timezone can be specified for each of your Clients.
Reports are sent based on the timezone you've chosen. For example, if you've set a report to send at 2 p.m. and the client's timezone is Australia/Melbourne, the report will be sent at 2 p.m. Melbourne time.
Why is my "All Time" date range shorter than I expect?
The "All Time" date range in the report and dashboard date range selector is determined by the Start Date set under Client Details. To increase the "All Time" range, update the Client's start date to an older date.
