πŸ”Œ Connect Google Analytics 4

To avoid a failed connection or error when integrating Google Analytics 4 within an AgencyAnalytics campaign, the person connecting must:

  • Have Analyst, Editor, or Administrator permissions with no data restriction and direct permissions

  • Be added to both the GA4 account and relevant GA4 Property

If the above requirements are met, simply follow these steps to connect:

  1. Open the Campaign where you'd like to connect Google Analytics 4.

  2. Click Integrations (plug icon) on the left side menu.

  3. Search for Google Analytics 4 in the upper right search box or by scrolling through the integrations, then click the GA4 card.

  4. Click Connect New Account.

  5. Select from the available connections, or to add a completely new account click the '+ Connect New Account' button at the bottom, then follow the authorization prompts.

On the next page of the popup click 'Allow'. The window will load for a few moments before closing automatically.

The new account will now be authorized and available within the connections list. Select your account, then click 'Connect' at the bottom left to finish the process.

The integration will then be complete, and your client's Google Analytics 4 metrics will be imported and displayed within the dashboard. If your Google Analytics 4 integration ever disconnects, you can learn how to easily manage a disconnected integration here.

❓ GA4 FAQ

Why is my Custom Audience not showing?

A custom audience is tied to the account who set it up; it is not tied to the property. If user X created the custom audience, and you connected the Google Analytics 4 integration using user Y's credentials, that custom audience won't show up within AgencyAnalytics unless you use user X's credentials or account.

Additionally, the custom audience will not pull through within your AgencyAnalytics account if the custom audience contains less than 10 active users.

Why aren't my events showing up in AgencyAnalytics?

If event names include spaces in GA4, they won't display on our end and will need to be renamed in order to show up. You can learn more about this here.

What is Rate Limit Exceeded? When does the quota refresh?

This error comes from Google when either an hourly or daily quota for pulling data has been hit. This isn't something we can override, you'll need to wait it out. One hour after the first server error, the quota resets.

If you're seeing this often, try using less GA4 widgets, a shorter date range to pull in less data, or reduce the number of times you change the date range in quick succession to avoid hitting the daily quota.
