How to connect your YouTube account to your AgencyAnalytics dashboard.

🔌 Connect YouTube

To avoid a failed connection or error when integrating YouTube to a Client, the person connecting must have:

  • Owner permissions for the channel itself

OR

If the above requirements are met, simply follow these steps to connect:

  1. Open the Client where you'd like to connect YouTube, then click the Data Sources tab at the top.

  2. Click the blue Connect Data Source button in the upper right corner of the page.

  3. Search for YouTube in the search bar at the top, then click the YouTube card.

  4. Click Connect New Account to launch the authorization window, or if you've previously connected an account, click the gray + sign at the bottom.

  5. Follow the prompts in the OAuth window to verify and finalize the connection.

Once connected, select the specific customer account from the connections list by checking the box to the left of the account name. Click Save in the bottom left to finish the integration process.

How can I verify that my Brand Account is correctly setup?

To verify Brand Account linkage for YouTube:

  1. Sign in to the Google account you’re using for the connection.

  2. Visit your Google Brand Accounts page (search for "Google Brand Accounts" in your browser).

  3. Confirm the channel is a Brand Account and that your user is listed/linked.

  4. If not, request Owner access or have the Owner add your account to the Brand Account.

Why isn't my client's account available in the connection list or appearing as an option to connect?

If you don't see the right client account in the connection list, it may be due to incorrect permissions or Brand Account linkage. Double-check that the Google account selected in the authorization process is the one with access to your client's account. If needed, you can reauthorize the integration connection.

Additionally, confirm the channel is a Brand Account and that your user is listed/linked. If not, request Owner access or have the Owner add your account to the Brand Account.

Why can't I see historical views from YouTube?

This usually happens when the AgencyAnalytics client start date doesn't match the YouTube channel's join date. Open the client, then click the cog in the sidebar to open settings. Under Client details, change the start date to match your client's YouTube join date.

Why aren't some YouTube videos appearing in my AgencyAnalytics account?

If videos are not appearing in AgencyAnalytics, ensure they are included in a playlist on the YouTube channel. Videos not in a playlist are not fetched by the YouTube API. Create a playlist and add the videos to it to resolve this issue.
