Map widgets are a great way to show clients a visual illustration of segmented geographical data. AgencyAnalytics' built-in map widget only displays data at the country level and isn't available for all metrics. If you want a more zoomed-in regional view, you can use Google Sheets to build a custom map and embed it on your dashboards or web reports.

To create a regional map, you'll first enter your location and data values into Google Sheets, then turn that data into a geo chart.

Step 1: In your Google Sheet, add the location names and numeric data values you want to display, using separate rows and columns.

Step 2: Select the location names and numeric data.

Step 3: Click Insert, then Chart.

Step 4: Under Chart type, choose Geo Chart or Geo chart with markers.

This gives you the option of a colored geo chart or a geo chart with colored markers, based on your selected locations and data values.

You can customize how your Google Sheets map looks, including colors, borders, fonts, and which region it zooms into.

Step 1: Double-click on the map.

Step 2: Select Customize.

Under Customize, you can set the chart's background color, chart border color, and font. Choosing an ocean colored background gives your map a more realistic look and feel.

You can also customize the colors assigned to locations or location markers based on the "maximum", "middle", "minimum", and "no value" numeric data values for each location on the map.

Step 3: To zoom into a specific region, still under Customize, click Geo.

Step 4: Click Region filter.

Step 5: Select the location you want the map to zoom into.

Hovering over a location on the map displays the location name and its assigned numeric data value.

Once your Google Sheets map is ready, you can embed it as an iFrame to display it on your AgencyAnalytics dashboards or web reports.

Step 1: In Google Sheets, click File.

Step 2: Click Share.

Step 3: Click Publish to web.

Step 4: Click Embed.

Step 5: Select the sheet.

Step 6: Copy the iFrame code.

Step 7: Open your custom dashboard or web report in AgencyAnalytics.

Step 8: On the right side, click Embeds.

Step 9: Drag the embed widget onto the section where you want the map to appear.

Step 10: Click the embed widget.

Step 11: Select iFrame.

Step 12: Paste in the iFrame code you copied from Google Sheets.

Note: embed widgets are not supported in PDF downloads, since PDF files don't allow for embedded content.

Once the iFrame code is added, you can drag and drop your new custom map widget by clicking and dragging it, or resize it by clicking and dragging the bottom right corner of the widget.
