Embed external content with embed widgets
Most online content can be embedded in a web report or dashboard using an embed widget, which adds content via iFrame. As long as the platform you're embedding allows for embedded content, you can display it on AgencyAnalytics dashboards and web reports!
Please note that PDFs do not support embedded content. If a report or dashboard is downloaded as a PDF, the embed will not display.
Not sure where to find the iFrame embed code? Platforms like YouTube, X, Google Suite, and more have an embed option under the "Share" menu!
How to embed content on a dashboard or report
First, navigate to the Report or Dashboard where you want to embed content, then edit the dashboard or report.
On the Edit Widget sidebar to the right, click the Object tab, then click and drag an Embed widget onto your dashboard or report section.
Click the widget, then in the Edit Widget sidebar to the right, select URL or iFrame before entering the iframe code or URL for the content you want embedded.
The embed widget can use both URL and iFrame code. What is displayed depends on the URL configuration provided by the application you're trying to embed.
Lastly, you can resize the embedded content by clicking the bottom right corner and dragging it outward or reposition it by clicking and dragging the widget across the dashboard or report.
Embed TikTok videos
First, follow the steps above to add an empty embed widget to your dashboard or report. In another tab, open up TikTok and locate the video you want to embed.
Next, copy only the video ID number in the URL of the TikTok video you wish to embed. The video ID number appears after /video/ in the URL.
In this example, the video ID number would be 7415240528377154821
https://www.tiktok.com/@agencyanalytics/video/7415240528377154821
Now, take the video ID number and add it to the end of TikTok's embed URL. The end result will look like the example below.
https://www.tiktok.com/embed/7415240528377154821
Copy this new URL and paste it into the URL field of the embed widget you added earlier. Then, you can resize the widget to adjust the size of the content by dragging the bottom right corner.
Embed an Instagram post
First, add an embed widget to a dashboard or report. Then, in a separate tab, open Instagram and locate a post's link by clicking the three ellipses at the top right corner of the post. Click copy link.
Paste the copied URL into any text editor or text field. It will look similar to the example below:
https://www.instagram.com/p/Cb-oo-tMKdv/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
Replace /?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link with /embed/. The URL should look like this afterward:
https://www.instagram.com/p/Cb-oo-tMKdv/embed/
Copy the new URL, then return to the dashboard or report where you added the embed widget. Paste the URL into the URL field under the Edit Widget menu on the right.
Lastly, resize the embed widget to the size and shape you prefer by dragging the bottom right corner.
β Embed Widget FAQ
What platforms can I embed content from?
Most platforms support embedding content using iFrame. The option to embed is usually found under the same menu as sharing the post or video.
Click the links below to see exactly how you can generate embeddable content from these platforms!
Can I embed a widget into my own website?
We don't offer ready-made widgets that can be embedded on your site. That said, some of our clients have had their developers design custom AgencyAnaltyics widgets for their sites to display live data using our API.
API access is available to customers on some of our plans- take a look at our pricing page or contact customer support to find out if you have access.
