How to transfer a campaign between accounts

If you need to move a campaign from one AgencyAnalytics account to another, you'll need to export the rankings and integration settings from the source account and import the data to the target account. This article explains how.

Note: Custom dashboards, reports & users cannot be exported. You'll need to recreate these on the new campaign you'll create in the target account.

Step 1: Export rankings and integration settings

To export all rankings data and integration settings, log into the source account, navigate to the specific campaign, and click "Settings" at the bottom of the left side menu:

Click Import / Export from the settings page menu, then click Export to start downloading this campaign.

A .ZIP file will be downloaded to your local PC. You'll need this file for the next step. See here for a step-by-step guide for exporting rankings and integration data.

The next step is divided into two sections:

  • Step 2A - presumes that a campaign has been created in the target account.

  • Step 2B - assumes no campaign has been created in the target account.

Step 2A: Import your data into the other account (with a campaign already created)

Log into the target account and create a new campaign. Follow the same steps as above, go to Settings in the left hand menu, then Import / Export from the settings page menu.

From here, click the button that says "Import a Campaign", then browse for the .ZIP file you exported earlier, and click "Open".

Step 2B: Import your data into the other account (without creating a campaign)

Log into the target account, and click on Settings in the left hand menu. Go to the Data Import section and finally click on the Create Import button.

Your data and settings will then be imported automatically and will appear after a few minutes. See here for a step-by-step guide for importing data.

Note: If you've imported rankings data, you may still need to activate the rankings dashboard in the new campaign to see it.
