Create a Dashboard Section
From the Home page, click the Client you want to create a new dashboard section for.
If this Client does not have an existing dashboard section, click Create Dashboard Section to open the creation pop-up.
If you've previously created a dashboard for this Client, you can click Edit Dashboard in the upper right to open the editor.
Then click Add Section at the bottom left of the editor to open the Create Section pop-up.
Multiple dashboard sections are only available on some of our plans. For more information, check out the pricing page.
Choose a starting point for the new dashboard section. The table below explains each option in detail. When you are ready to proceed, click the corresponding tile.
Blank dashboard | Creates a fresh, completely blank dashboard section that you can fully customize |
Smart Section | Generates an editable section pre-filled with widgets from all the integrations currently connected to this Client |
Generates a section based on the template you select. We have premade templates available, or you can create your own. | |
Clone existing | Duplicates an existing section of your choosing to a new dashboard section, which can then be customized. |
Next, give the new dashboard section a name. This will be displayed when viewing the dashboard and used as an identifier in the dashboard editor.
Click Continue in the bottom left to begin designing the section.
The newly created dashboard section will be visible in the section sidebar on the left of the dashboard editor. For a larger workspace, click the gray line to the right of the section sidebar to collapse it.
You can now add metric widgets, title headers, images, embedded content, and more to build out the dashboard section. To learn more about filtering and configuring widget data, click here.
As you work, autosave will lock in restorable versions of the dashboard section, as shown by the indicator in the top right.
Restore a Dashboard Section with Version History
Each time a dashboard autosaves, a version is created and saved. To view a dashboard's version history, click the rewind icon in the upper right of the report.
The version sidebar will open on the right, listing historical saves for the dashboard.
Clicking a historical version will display this version into the dashboard editor, where you can scroll through the section visual to make sure it's the version you wish to restore.
Dashboard versions can't be edited via the version preview. Restore the dashboard version first, then you can make any necessary changes!
Once you're sure of which version to restore, hover over the version history on the right, then click the ellipsis menu. In the dropdown, click Restore This Version.
Review the version information in the confirmation pop-up, then click Restore to revert your current dashboard to the previous version.
The selected dashboard version will be restored, and you can start making edits again.
Manage Dashboard Sections
Dashboard sections can be added, removed, reordered, or altered within the Dashboard Editor.
When viewing a custom dashboard, click Edit Dashboard in the upper right to open the editor.
The menu on the left side of the editor displays your current dashboard sections for this Client.
Hover over a section, then click the ellipsis menu to reveal more options like renaming the section, cloning the section, or saving this section for future use as a section template.
Clicking Edit opens the display settings, including Section Access, which refers to who can access or view the section. You can change a section from All Users to Staff Only.
Sections can also be reordered from the left menu. Click, hold, and drag the section up or down the section list, then release to reorder.
The next time you view the dashboard, the section order will reflect the changes you made.
Delete a Dashboard Section
Dashboard sections can be deleted via the ellipsis menu in the dashboard editor. When used, it permanently deletes the section from this dashboard.
Hover over the section name on the left, click the ellipsis, then click Delete in the dropdown.
Deleted a dashboard section by mistake? Don't worry! You can restore the deleted section by restoring a previous dashboard version!
