Data warehousing

Accurate historical data is the core of any great report. To display your clients' data, we need to request that information from the integrations you connect. The authentication process you go through when connecting any integration to AgencyAnalytics makes that possible. Once connected, we pull your client data via their API and display this in your reports and dashboards.

Each integration has different parameters for sharing data with a third party via their API, which can lead to discrepancies when reporting on multiple integrations over time. With warehoused data, we can retrieve data more quickly and more often, resulting in shorter load times on client dashboards and reports.

In many cases, data warehousing also enables us to provide substantially more historical data. The table below shows each warehoused integration and the number of historical days warehoused.

How data warehousing works

After you connect one of the above integrations to a campaign, we'll start pulling your data. When you visit the prebuilt integration dashboard or add widgets at this stage, you'll see the integration is initializing. This initial period may last 1-2 days while we pull the most recent data from the integration.

Once the integration is initialized and current data is available, we'll start warehousing historical data. This process takes anywhere from 4 to 14 days, depending on the amount of data in your connected account and the API data limits each integration has.

We do this slowly to avoid hitting any API rate limits or daily limits that could impact the data flow from the integration.

You can check how much historical data has been warehoused by visiting the prebuilt integration dashboard and checking the tracker in the upper right.

Data warehousing privacy and security

By default, all warehoused data is encrypted at rest. When possible, we warehouse 365 days of historical data. We backfill from the connected date and then store each new day to ensure up-to-date data is available. Anything older than 1 year will be removed from warehousing.

What happens if my integration disconnects?

If an integration disconnects, we don't automatically delete warehoused data. This ensures that a brief disconnection won't require the integration to initialize and fetch all 365 days again. Simply reauthorize the connection, and your data will be available.

Simpli.Fi is an exception; while we don't automatically delete the data, their API limits how many days at a time we can pull. If Simpli.Fi remains disconnected, the warehoused data will become out of date, and it will take time after reconnection to fetch and update the data.

How do I delete warehoused data?

At this time, it's not possible to manually delete your warehoused data; this is to prevent any accidental deletions that would disrupt your client reporting. If you'd like warehoused data deleted, please reach out to our Support team who will begin that process for you.
