How to set up a custom domain

Note: White label settings are only available to the admin user of your subscription.

First, navigate to your White Label URL settings by clicking Settings in the left sidebar, then selecting the white label settings you're changing, in this case Login/Domain.

Now on the Login/Domain white label page, tick the radio button for "Custom Domain" and enter the domain name that you'd like to use in the box provided.

This URL should be in an FQDN (fully qualified domain name) format, such as reports.mysite.com (or .net/.org/.ca etc.) and it must be a URL that you actually own.

Then, follow the instructions provided in the interface to configure the domain through your web host. Be sure to save your changes before you exit this screen.

For your convenience, here are the instructions that you'll find in the interface:

  • Create a 'CNAME' record using your desired hostname (eg clients.yourdomain.com)

  • Point the CNAME to 'cname.clientseoreport.com'

  • Wait an hour or more for it to propagate

  • Once complete, accessing this domain should redirect to your client access area

Note: Creating a redirect is NOT the same thing as creating a CNAME record.

Alternatively, you can set up a custom subdomain instead.

If you have any trouble setting up your custom subdomain or domain, reach out to our support team.
