Using a white-labeled login URL for your clients and staff is a great opportunity to showcase your brand. White-label settings are only available to the Admin user of your subscription.
How to Set Up a White Label URL
Open account settings by clicking the user profile in the lower left corner, then clicking Settings in the drop-down menu.
Next, click Domain under the Branding header on the Settings page. Specify a Site Name, which will be used as the page title in the browser tab for your custom URL and also appear in the footer of your report emails.
Then, tick the radio button for custom domain or subdomain before entering the domain name you'll be using in the box provided.
If you're using a subdomain, once you've entered the name in the provided field, just save your changes, and the subdomain setup is complete!
For a custom domain, the URL should be in an FQDN (fully qualified domain name) format, such as reports.mysite.com (or .net/.org/.ca, etc.), and it must be a URL that you actually own.
Then follow the instructions in the interface to configure the domain with your web host. Be sure to save your changes before you exit this screen.
For your convenience, here are the instructions that you'll find in the interface:
Create a 'CNAME' record using your desired hostname (eg. clients.yourdomain.com)
Point the CNAME to 'cname.clientseoreport.com'
Wait an hour or more for it to propagate
Once complete, accessing this domain should redirect to your client access area
Please be aware that creating a redirect is not the same thing as creating a CNAME record.
FAQ
My custom domain isn't resolving. What should I check?
Start by verifying two things:
1. Your domain format is correct. The custom domain field requires a fully qualified domain name (FQDN), meaning a subdomain you own that isn't hosting another website, such as reports.yourdomain.com. You can't enter your main homepage URL (e.g. www.yourdomain.com) in this field.
2. Your CNAME record is set up correctly at your DNS host. The record should point to cname.clientseoreport.com. The "host" or "name" field should contain only the subdomain portion (e.g. reports), though some hosts require the full URL, check with your host if you're unsure.
If both look correct, check whether Cloudflare is routing the CNAME record. If it is, the record needs to be set to DNS only (not Proxied). You can change this in your Cloudflare dashboard without affecting Cloudflare on the rest of your domain.
Why is my custom domain/subdomain showing as "not private" or "unsecured"?
This can happen if you recently changed hosts or made any changes to the CNAME record, and should resolve itself. In rare situations, if an SSL certificate isn't issued correctly, it gets re-queued and self-resolves automatically as well.
Also, check the URL you're visiting. Your custom domain should be accessed without "www". For example, reports.yourdomain.com, not www.reports.yourdomain.com. Visiting the www version will trigger an SSL warning; this is expected behavior.
If this doesn't self-resolve, check our AgencyAnalytics status page to see if our engineers are working on a related maintenance update, and feel free to reach out to our support team for troubleshooting.
Can I use a root domain (e.g., mydomain.com) instead of a subdomain?
Yes, root domains are supported, but only if your DNS host supports ANAME records or CNAME flattening. These allow a CNAME-style record to be created at the root level, which is normally not possible with standard DNS.
If your host doesn't support ANAME records or CNAME flattening, the closest alternative is to set up a redirect: point both domain.com and www.domain.com to a subdomain like reports.domain.com, then use that subdomain as your custom domain in AgencyAnalytics.
Note: If your host prompts you to enter an IP address when creating the record, you're creating an A record, not an ANAME record. These are different, and an A record won't work for this setup.
My custom domain loads but shows AgencyAnalytics branding instead of my white-label branding.
First, confirm that your agency's logo has been uploaded to your white label settings. If a logo hasn't been uploaded, the default AgencyAnalytics branding will show.
How do we generate SSL certificates for Custom Domains?
We use “Let’s Encrypt” (https://letsencrypt.org/) to generate SSL certificates automatically for each new domain as it’s added to the system. The Let's Encrypt SSL certificate is generated on your behalf using the hostname you have chosen to point to our system.
