Semrush follows the URL scope setting in Client settings, so the domain on Semrush must match the exact domain added in the AgencyAnalytics Client settings
Before You Start
To avoid a failed connection or error when connecting Semrush Backlinks to a Client, the person connecting the integration needs a Semrush Business plan.
API credits aren't required for basic backlink endpoints, depending on your subscription plan
Semrush provides 10 free API requests per day, renewed every 24 hours

Connect Semrush Backlinks
Once the requirements above are met, follow these steps to connect Semrush Backlinks to a Client:
Step 1: Open the Client where you'd like to connect Semrush Backlinks, then click the Data Sources tab at the top.
Step 2: Click the blue Connect Data Source button in the upper right corner of the page.
Step 3: Search for Semrush Backlinks in the search bar at the top, then click the Semrush Backlinks card.
Step 4: Click Connect New Account in the lower left.
Step 5: In the pop-up, sign in to the appropriate Semrush account, then click Approve to grant AgencyAnalytics the required access to Semrush.
FAQ
Why is my Competitors tab blank?
The Competitors tab in AgencyAnalytics pulls directly from Semrush's Backlink Analytics > Competitors section. If it's blank, Semrush doesn't have enough backlink data for that domain to identify competitors. This is a Semrush data limitation, not an AgencyAnalytics issue.
To confirm, log into your Semrush account and check Backlink Analytics > Competitors for the same domain. If it's blank there too, the domain likely doesn't have enough backlink history for Semrush to populate competitor data.
Can I see organic competitor data in AgencyAnalytics?
Not yet. The Semrush Backlinks integration currently pulls only backlink data, so organic competitor data isn't available. If this is something you'd like to see, you can vote for it on our roadmap.
Where should I compare my Semrush Backlinks data?
When cross-checking data between Semrush and AgencyAnalytics, use the Backlink Analytics section in Semrush, not the Backlink Audit section. The two sections pull from different data sets, so comparing against Backlink Audit will show discrepancies.
