Getting started with Clients

Most digital marketing agencies will have one Client for each website that you manage and report on for your clients. Within each Client, you'll connect integrations, also referred to as data sources, to pull in your client's data.

Once connected, you can build reports to send to your clients or create dashboards they can log in to see. You can also create Tasks for your team and clients, add Goals to track KPIs, build staff-only dashboards, and more!

Create a Client

From the Home page, click Create Client in the upper right-hand corner to launch the Client creation wizard.

In the Create Your Client wizard, enter a title for your Client and the website address it will reference. The URL is used when tracking backlinks or keywords, auditing the site for SEO errors, and generating the website preview used in tile view.

To add a few Clients at once, click Add Client, then fill in the title and address.

Click Advanced Settings to expand additional Client options. Changes made to Advanced Settings will apply to all Clients you are currently creating and can be updated later.

Report delivery timezone

Sets the timezone for the Client; this affects the time reports are sent

Apply a previously created Client template, including dashboards and reports, to what you're creating now

Group / Folder

Used to organize Clients into new or existing folders

Lastly, click Create in the bottom left to finish creating these Clients.

Organize Clients on the Home page

Clients can be kept individually or grouped into Folders, which changes how Clients are displayed in some views.

On the Home page, you can shift between the three available views in the upper right by clicking the Tile, Folder, or List view icons.

Each user account can select their own preferred view; changing the view will only change it for your user account.

Add or Remove a Client from a Folder

Clients can be added to a Folder directly on the Home page.

  1. In the Tile view, hover over the Client tile, then check the box in the left corner. In the table views, click the check box to the left of the Client name.

  2. Click the Folder icon with the plus symbol, then enter a new Folder name or select from the Folders in the dropdown.

  3. Click Save to update the Folder for these Clients.

To remove Clients from a Folder, open the Folder and then follow the same steps above.

  1. Check the boxes to select the Clients you wish to remove from the Folder

  2. Click the open Folder icon to remove the Clients from this Folder

When all Clients are removed from a folder, the folder will disappear from the home page.

Folder names can't be edited. Instead, move the Clients to a new folder with a new name. Once it's empty, the older Folder will disappear from the Home page!

Edit a Client

To edit a Client, open the Client you want to change and click the Settings icon at the bottom of the left menu.

On the Client Details page, you can update the Client name, URL, timezone, start date, and Client language. You can also add or remove a Client group or update the URL Scope used for rankings and backlinks.

Once you've finished updating, click Save at the bottom left to lock in these changes.

Remove a Client

On the Home page in Tile view, hover over a Client tile, click the ellipsis then click Remove in the dropdown.

If using the Table or Folder view, click the box to the left of the Client names to select one or more Clients for deletion, then click Remove in the upper right of the table.

This will trigger a popup displaying a list of the Clients being deleted. Click Confirm in the bottom left to delete these Clients.

If you don't plan to replace this Client with a new one right away, you can follow these steps to update your subscription and alter your Client count.
