The New Dashboard Editor is Now Live 🀩

The new look should seem familiar--we've updated the dashboard editor to match how you already build reports!

This means you'll spend less time onboarding new teammates and you'll all experience a smoother, more efficient workflow.

What's New πŸš€ ✨

This update brings over some fantastic quality-of-life improvements from the report editor.

Autosave for Dashboards

Last year, we released the much-anticipated autosave for Reports. With the unification of these experiences, Autosave is also available when building and editing Dashboard sections!

When you're editing a Dashboard, look in the upper right corner for the Autosaved indicator. Dashboards autosave every few seconds, so you won't have to worry about losing your work.

Version History for Dashboards

Edited dashboard section versions can now be viewed and restored with version history, just like with Reports! This is available across all subscription levels.

In the upper right of the dashboard editor, click the rewind icon to expand a list of dashboard versions. Click through to preview each version until you find the right one, then click the ellipsis menu, and lastly, click Restore This Version.

Improved Dashboard Management

Dashboard sections can now be added, removed, reordered, or altered within the Dashboard Editor.

When viewing a custom dashboard, click Edit Dashboard in the upper right to open the editor.

The menu on the left side of the editor displays your current dashboard sections for this Client.

Hover over a section, then click the ellipsis menu to reveal more options like renaming the section, cloning the section, or saving this section for future use as a section template.

Clicking Edit opens the display settings, including Section Access, which refers to who can access or view the section. You can change a section from All Users to Staff Only.

Sections can also be reordered from the left menu. Click, hold, and drag the section up or down the section list, then release to reorder.

The next time you view the dashboard, the section order will reflect the changes you made.

Delete a Dashboard Section

The option to delete a dashboard section can be found under the ellipsis menu. When used, it permanently deletes the section from this dashboard.

Hover over a dashboard section, click the ellipsis, then click Delete from the dropdown.

Deleted a section by mistake? No problem! Use version history to restore a previous version of the dashboard in seconds.

Building Sections With the New Dashboard Editor

To add a new dashboard section, click Add Section at the bottom of the left sidebar within the new editor.

This opens the dashboard creation process you're familiar with. Choose the starting point for the dashboard section, name it, then start designing!

Collapse the sidebar on the left by clicking the gray bar beside it to expand your section workspace. Then, quickly drag and drop widgets onto the section using the right toolbar.

Autosave will lock in your changes as you go!

❓ FAQ

Can I still share a Dashboard? I don't see it in the editor!

Yes, you can share Dashboards! Where you share dashboards didn't change with this release, you can still find the share button to the left of the Edit Dashboard button, at the top right of a dashboard.

Where are the Activity and Scheduling tabs?

Dashboards can't be scheduled the way Reports can, so the Dashboard editor didn't need the Scheduling and Activity tabs. You'll still find them at the top of the editor when you're working on Reports.
