Anomaly Detection helps your team spot unexpected performance trends on key line and area graph widgets. When enabled, it flags deviations in your data so you can quickly identify and analyze unusual spikes or drops in performance.

You may also want to learn about Forecasting and Benchmarks, two related features that help you understand trends in your data.

Only Staff and Admin users can enable or disable Anomaly Detection.

You can turn on Anomaly Detection for an existing line or area chart widget while in view mode.

Step 1: Hover over the line or area chart widget where you want to enable Anomaly Detection.

Step 2: Click the Insights icon in the upper-right corner of the widget.

If the Insights icon does not appear in the widget's upper right corner, Anomaly Detection is not supported for that widget type.

You can also turn on Anomaly Detection at the same time you add a new chart widget to a dashboard or report.

Step 1: Drag and drop the chart widget onto a dashboard or report.

Step 2: Click the Display tab.

Step 3: Toggle on Show Anomalies.

To turn off Anomaly Detection for a widget, click the Show Anomalies toggle again to disable it. This works the same way whether you enabled Anomaly Detection from the Insights icon or from the Display tab when adding the widget.
