AI Summary
AI summaries can be generated for chart and graph widgets, or added to reports and dashboard sections to provide a full summary of that page. You can even use it to summarize entire reports!
This tool can save valuable time, streamline your team's workflow, and impress your clients with insightful, professionally crafted summaries. The AI Summary tool is included with some of our subscription plans.
Using AI Summary on report pages or dashboard sections
AI Summary is an AI-powered object that can be added as a widget to a report page or dashboard section. To get started, open the report page or edit the dashboard section you'd like to summarize.
On the toolbar to the right, click Content Blocks, then drag AI Summary from the menu onto the page.
Each AI summary is generated based on the page's contents at the time the summary is added.
The AI summary will take a few seconds to generate. Once done, it will be displayed in a textbox widget, which you can customize using the textbox tools.
If the content of the page has changed since the AI Summary was added, you can quickly refresh the summary to display up-to-date information.
Click the summary box, then in the sidebar on the right, click Refresh AI Summary.
Not seeing the refresh option for the AI Summary? That means you're using an older version of the AI Summary widget. Delete it, then add a new one to access the refresh option!
Use AI Summary on an entire report
The AI Summary widget can also be used to summarize all pages within a report at once.
Just like the page summary, open the report you want to summarize, then click Content Blocks to the right. Drag AI Summary from the menu onto the page, then wait for it to finish the initial summary.
Click on the AI Summary widget to open the Edit Widget menu on the right, then click "Full Report" to increase the scope of the AI Summary. After loading, the AI Summary will display a summary of the entire report.
You also have the option to guide your summary content using the AI prompt box: Customize tone, focus, context, length and structure with prompting. Enter the prompt, then click update summary. The widget will reload and display a refreshed AI Summary based off your prompt.
Continue adjusting and building on your prompt until you're happy with the output.
Want to your summary in a different language? Just ask! Adding a translate prompt into the 'Guide your summary' area will update your summary into your desired language.
Edit an AI report or dashboard summary
Once generated, the AI summary widget can be edited in the same way as the textbox widget. To do so, click the ellipsis in the upper right of the widget, then click Edit or if in a report, simply click the widget.
Once the widget is in edit mode, you can change text size, color, and alignment, or edit the generated text. Simply highlight the text to display your formatting choices.
Using AI Summary on stat and chart widgets
AI summary can be used on any dashboard stat or chart widget to generate helpful insights based on your data.
Simply hover over a widget, then click the ✨ icon to generate AI insights.
