What does "Automatic Content" mean in the Google Ads integration?

"Automatic Content" refers to keyword data generated via the Google Ads display network, which doesn't use traditional keywords

Often, you'll see a keyword called "Content" or "Automatic Content" appear in your Google Ads integration. 

Those "Automatic Content" or "Content" keywords refer to clicks/impressions and other data generated via the Google Ads display network, which doesn't utilize traditional keywords.

Even if you're not specifically running display ads, Google still runs your ads on their Display network unless you specifically opt out of that option in your Google Ads interface.

We display any keyword type data from the display network as "automatic content" because that's how Google Ads sends it to us via the API. This is normal functionality for our system.

You can filter out Display network keywords by applying the "Search network" filter under the settings slider:

That same functionality is available in the reports by opening any widget for editing, and then applying the "Search" network filter:
