How to upgrade to a higher yearly membership level

The account admin can access the billing portal here to upgrade your account's membership level.

To upgrade from one yearly membership plan to a higher tier yearly plan, start by navigating to your billing portal.

To do so, click your user icon in the top right corner of your screen, then click "Billing".

Alternatively, this may also be accessed through the sidebar of the main "Campaigns" dashboard.

Once on the Billing dashboard, select the Yearly plan on the Subscription Summary window. Review the summary of your charges, and click "Complete Order".

Prorating on yearly plans

When you upgrade part-way through a billing cycle, your charges will be prorated.

In the fee total to the right of your billing screen, you'll notice that the charge for the new plan is prorated, and that a line item for "Credits" has been applied.

The prorated amount reflects the new yearly charge, prorated based on the number of days left in your existing billing cycle.

The "credits" reflect the amount paid - but unused - on your current subscription.

Example:

Let's say you're currently subscribed to a yearly Freelancer plan with 5 campaigns at $500 per year, and you're looking to upgrade to the Agency plan with 5 campaigns at $750 per year.

You made your last $500 payment on September 4th of 2020, and your next $500 payment is due on September 4th of 2021. For the purposes of this example, let's say that today is December 11th, 2020.

Your current yearly plan is prorated to the amount of $500/ 365 = $1.37 per day.

Your new yearly plan will be prorated to the amount of $750 / 365 = $2.05 per day.

In this example, you've used 98 days of your subscription this year (98 days have elapsed between September 4th and December 11th), and have 267 days left until the next renewal.

As a result you'll be charged a prorated amount for the new yearly Agency plan, at $2.05 * 267 = $547.35

You'll also be credited for the unused days on your previous Freelancer plan subscription, at $1.37 * 267 = $365.79

Your total amount due immediately will be $547.35- $365.79 = $181.56, which covers you until September 4th 2021.

Your next billing date will be on your normal billing cycle, which is September 4th, 2021 in this example, and on that date you'd pay the full yearly Agency plan amount of $750.
