How to upgrade to a higher monthly membership level or change your subscription settings

The account admin can access the billing portal here to upgrade or change your account's membership level

To upgrade from one monthly membership plan to a different monthly plan, start by navigating to your billing portal.

To do so, click your user icon in the top right corner of the screen, then click "Billing".

Alternatively, this may also be accessed through the sidebar on the left, from the homepage.

Once on the Billing dashboard, simply click the "Update" button on the Plan section.

The plan you're purchasing will be highlighted, in the screenshot below Agency is selected. Selecting a plan will change the details in the Subscription Summary window in real-time, allowing you to see a preview of the changes in cost.

You can also switch between Monthly and Yearly billing.

Once you are done making changes and would like to finalize these, click on the Complete Order button to the right.

Prorating on monthly plans

When you upgrade part-way through a billing cycle, your charges will be prorated.

If applicable, you'll notice that a line item for "Credits" will been applied in the Subscrption Summary box on the right of screen.

The prorated amount reflects the new monthly charge, prorated based on the number of days left in your existing billing cycle.

The credits reflect the amount paid - but unused - on your current subscription.

Example:

Let's say you're currently subscribed to a monthly Freelancer plan, at $60 per month, and you're looking to upgrade to the Agency plan at $180 per month.

You made your last $60 payment on September 4th, and your next $60 payment is due on October 4th. For the purposes of this example, let's say that today is September 17th.

Your current monthly plan is prorated to the amount of $60 / 30 = $2 per day.
Your new monthly plan will be prorated to the amount of $180 / 30 = $6 per day.

In this example, you've used 13 days of your subscription this month, and have 17 days left until the next renewal.

As a result, you'll be charged a prorated amount for the new Agency plan, at $6 x 17 = $102

You'll also be credited for the unused days on your previous Freelancer subscription, at $2 x 17 = $34

Your total amount due immediately will be $102 - $34 = $68.

Your next billing date will be on your normal billing cycle, which is October 4th in this example, for the full Agency plan amount of $180.
