Display more insightful information in your custom dashboards or reports by adding a secondary dimension to your line charts. For example, instead of just seeing how many visits per week your site gets, you can show which age groups they are from or which device is used the most.

Where to begin

Open the dashboard widget settings or report widget settings for the widget you'd like to change.

If your metric supports secondary dimensions, you'll find this option in the Edit Widget menu. Choose your secondary dimension from the drop-down options.

Click "Done Editing" in the widget ellipsis "..." drop-down menu to apply changes.

The result

In the line chart below, we added the secondary dimension - Gender, which gives you more insight into how your user demographic interacts with your website.

Please note that this only applies to some integrations and metrics.
